There is a book titled, “The Millionaire Next Door: The Surprising Secrets of America’s Wealthy,” written by Thomas J. Stanely, in which he states that only 20% of millionaires inherited their wealthy and the other 80% are millionaires who earned their money.
Myth #2:
Millionaires Have High Paying Jobs: About 50% of millionaires that do work under someone else to which this applies to them, but the other 50% are actually self employed or own a business. Not all millionaires are college graduates, there is about 80% that are, and about 18% have master degrees.
Myth #3:
Millionaires Don’t Pay Taxes: It doesn’t help when you see Hollywood stars such as Wesley Snipes go to prison for not paying his taxes, but surprisingly enough they pay about 40% of their taxes. Not sure how that works out with the IRS, but it seems like it does.
Myth #4:
Millionaires All Drive Exotic Cars: Surprisingly enough this isn’t true either. According to onmoneymaking.com, the millionaire clients preferred to purchase a Ford. In second place was Cadillac and in third place is Lincolns.
