As of now, even after nearly five years since James Brown death his $100 million fortune remains in limbo due to an ongoing battle between Tomi Rae Hynie, James Brown 4th wife and widow & his seven children who shortly after James Brown death on Christmas Day in 2006 contested the will in South Carolina.

As of today no one has seen a penny of James Brown $100 million fortune which James Brown wanted the trust to oversee and was intended to benefit poor and needy children in Georgia and South Carolina.

James Brown longtime attorney and good friend: Alfred Dallas is appalled by the whole ordeal. He claims he’s never “experienced anything so screwed up in his entire life.” Alfred Dallas stated in lament: “How can a man pay a lawyer $20,000 to set up his estate plan and then have a court just ignore what the man did?” He say’s James Brown felt “good” when he wrote out his will.

According to Alfred Dallas, James Brown in 1999 summoned a group of people including a court stenographer and videographer, his wife and seven children to his office when he was in the process of writing his will.

James Brown had stated: “I have prayed about this re­peatedly, and I’ve been given so much that I must give it back, and I’ve cho­sen to give it back to needy children.”

James Brown didn’t sign the will that day, but on August 1, 2000, according to Alfred Dallas he finally signed the will in front of his seven children and his wife: Tomi Rae Hynie. His wishes as to where his $100 million fortune were to benefit have yet to be met.

It all became so complicated that the litigation that followed included a ton of attorneys in 2009 in which a South Carolina judge split the (estate) $100 million fortune between the trust and the family.

The judge also, decided that James Brown‘s body which has been interred in a “temporary“ crypt in his daughter Deanna ‘s Beach property in South Carolina to be moved to a place where it would bring millions of visitors and make a fortune.

However, the battle over James Brown $100 million fortune continues as Alfred Dallas and James Brown‘s former producer: Jacque Hollander denounced the settlement as they claim and want to do what James wanted, which was for his $100 million fortune benefit the needy children of Georgia and South Carolina.

Needless, to say, James Brown must be rolling in the crypt where his lifeless body has been kept for nearly 5 years. “One” would think that James Brown’s family would be the ones fighting to honor his will.

So the battle will continue until someone budges, however, James Brown $100 million fortune has not been used for anything or anyone yet and his corpse continues to lie in the crypt at James Brown‘s daughter‘s property.

Yet another case of greed and ambition channeled in all the wrong ways. Truly a shame when James Brown had the best and purest of all intentions that are now being crapped on by his greedy family. A fortune of $100 million towards needy children was a thoughtful and selfless act that should be honored for the benefit of the children and to honor James Brown final wishes. We’ve yet to see how it all ends and where his substantial fortune of $100 million is handled.
